Alex Langevin from Fitlife Gym:
"Getting Ready for the Garden"
March 15th, 2018

27 persons attended the meeting.

After a long and hard winter it was wonderful to have the first meeting of the year as a harbinger of spring. Mary Higginson opened the meeting as 7.09 PM and welcomed everyone to the Knox Presbyterian Church Hall. She lit a candle and we had a moment of silence for 3 of our members Manfred Schroeder, Dagmar Koch and Bernard Stark who passed away over the winter

We had a few announcements and then Alex Langevin of FitLife put us through our paces to get us ready for the upcoming gardening season.

We learned about the importance of stretching both before and after any exercise. Alex had us concentrate on making certain our backs and core muscles would be strong enough to support our planting, digging and hoeing throughout the season.

After Alex had finished we took a brief break to look ahead at the activities planned for the year. Some of the highlights we have planned will include our first in house flower competition in May. In June we are off to the L'Original Jail for our meeting. We have a bus trip planned in July and in August we are meeting at the Macdonell Williamson House where we will have our second in house flower competition.

We then had our social break which gave us with a change to speak with friends we had not seen in a while.
