Plant and Produce Auction
September 21st, 2017

39 persons attended the meeting.

What an auction! We raided our gardens, pantries and sheds to come up with some weird and wonderful objects for the sale.

Plants stared arriving at 6:00 pm and at 7:00 pm Mary Higginson introduced our auctioneers, Jana and Allan Chenier, and the fun started.

There was spirited bidding for the Canada 150 bulbs and the runners were busy making sure people got what they bid on.

There was lots of laughter throughout the evening.

Some of the plants will grow this big!

We learned a lot about the plants on offer.

Some of us got so carried away we bought things and then were wondering what to do with them.

We had a bidding war over a tiny hellebore and for the last plant of the evening Allan carried out a stunning reverse auctioneering technique that thrilled the audience. The evening was a great success.

We followed the auction with our social break and raffles. The share the wealth was won by Edna Moran and the basket by Mary Hatz. We then headed home with our new purchases.
