2013 Beautification Report

Dear Members and Friends,

In the first place I would like to thank the many volunteers who helped me in the spring and over the summer with weeding, planting and cutting back the flowers. We had a very pleasant summer with a regular rainfall and a mild lingering fall.  The grass stayed green all summer and the weeds never stopped germinating.  Due to volunteers, the flowerbeds looked beautiful again. In June Bill and I took a walk in the park and saw the yellow and red tulips flowering and the blue irises looked especially nice this year. I bought some annuals: red salvias, marigolds, dianthus and dusty miller. Altogether the cost was $65.36.  Most of the plants were purchased at Legault’s and a few at Walmart. A big thank you to Joan King who organized the big fall cleanup and many, many thanks to  the hard working volunteers: Heather, Edson, Monika, Mary, Karen, Joan, Linda, Joyce, Frances, Dorli, Anna, June, Erica, Daryl, Manfred, Patti, Bill and myself. The town sign flowerbeds looked wonderful thanks to Joan, Patti, Anna and Mary who cared for the flowers during the summer. I wish you a pleasant winter and look forward to seeing you in the spring time.

Respectfully Submitted, Liz Radix
